It is with great sadness that I must announce that Black Rose have decided to call it a day.
In May of this year I announced to the band that I would be leaving in December as my work and family commitments were becoming more and more demanding. Due to time constraints, It has proven very difficult for the band to get together to discuss how we would proceed towards the end of the year and as such, we have decided to bring the date forward and as of this weekend Black Rose have disbanded.
All parties still remain good friends and there has been no "falling out" what so ever. On behalf of the band, I'd firstly like to apologise for any gigs which have had to be cancelled but most importantly, I’d like to offer my sincerest thanks and appreciation to everyone who has supported Black Rose over the last 11 years from the venues to the fans and everybody else that has been involved with the band.
So what now?
Well, Geordie, Col and Hirdy are still playing with Damage Control along with Alan (from local band Riot) and Mike (from local band Uncle Gilbert).
If you haven't seen them yet then be sure to get to a gig soon!
As for me, I'm gonna quietly head off into the sunset and enjoy my early retirement from the local music scene, pour some red wine,
smoke me pipe and put some Frank Dunnery on me iPod.
Bxx
