BNL met in 1993. One a guitarist
and the other a Keyboard player. BNL began writing and recording
their own music before they eventually gathered up some home-made backing tapes and headed out for a 3 year tour of the worst
social clubs and pubs in the Northeast of England. BNL decided that
rather than keep committing musical suicide every weekend, they should start off a
real band. As BNL were heavily influenced by Thin Lizzy, a tribute
band seemed the obvious choice. Black Rose was born in 1997 and soon built up a fine
reputation on the local band circuit. Lee left the band in 2000 to pursue
other ventures but
the band continued up until 2003 this time fronted by Ben. At the end of 2003, BNL met up
once again and soon began recording again. 2004 saw the release of their
official debut album "sunday nights and the ice cream
van." |
